Mohammad Vieri Azuri, S.H.

In Dispute Resolution, Vieri has represented clients in criminal corruption cases within the insurance industry and civil disputes involving land, Sharia economics, banking, and insurance, including a 2.16-hectare land dispute in Surabaya that he saw through to a final and binding judgment. He has supported clients through regulatory examinations and criminal investigations relating to capital markets and corruption matters conducted by the District Attorney, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Bareskrim Polri, and has also managed alternative dispute resolution processes, including labor office mediations and direct negotiations with counterparties, preparing litigation filings across all stages of proceedings, from formal notices through to cassation memorandums.

In Capital Markets, Vieri has advised on an IDR 1.3 trillion bond issuance for a listed bank, drafting transaction documents and supporting the issuer through the regulatory process. His capital markets work sits alongside broader commercial transaction experience, including joint operations and foreign direct investment matters.

In Mergers & Acquisitions, Vieri has assisted in the acquisition of forest-utilizing companies in Sumatra and West Papua, including the acquisition of a forestry company in West Papua with a transaction value of IDR 80 billion, encompassing 171 hectares of forest cover for a carbon sequestration project — work that has required him to navigate sector-specific regulatory frameworks governing forest utilization permits.

In General Corporate, Vieri has facilitated the establishment of local and foreign entities, and completed a five-month secondment as in-house counsel for a port business entity, advising on state-owned property utilization and securing government approval for the establishment of a Special Economic Zone on one of Indonesia's outer islands. In Public Policy, he has assisted in drafting academic papers and draft legislation in the financial sector, and has provided regulatory and legislative advisory support to regional governments and ministries.
