Dini S. Purwono, S.H., LL.M.

As a qualified lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in the legal industry, Dini advises on the Indonesian legal aspects of capital markets and securities transactions, including initial public offerings, rights issues, bond issuances, private placements, material transactions, conflict of interest transactions, and tender offers — the full spectrum of transactions that Indonesian public companies undertake to raise capital or change their ownership structure. Her broader experience includes advising on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, the establishment and restructuring of foreign investment companies, and the sale of strategic stakes in public and private companies to domestic and foreign investors, giving her a comprehensive view of how capital moves in and out of Indonesian businesses.

Before joining HWMA, Dini had an extensive career as a corporate lawyer at several prominent law firms, building the technical foundation that underpins her transactional practice today. Beyond her work as a lawyer, she has been entrusted with governance and oversight roles at Indonesian state-owned enterprises (BUMNs). She served as Head of the Legal Division at PT Danareksa (Persero) (2005 – 2008); as Member of the Investment Committee of the Board of Commissioners of PT Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned oil and gas company (2019 – 2021), where she helped evaluate the company's major investment decisions; and as Independent Commissioner of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk., the listed state-owned gas distribution company (2021 – 2025).

In addition to her work as a corporate lawyer and BUMN board member, Dini has held a series of senior government appointments that placed her at the center of Indonesia's investment and legal policy-making. She served as Special Staff to the Chairman of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) (2012 – 2013), supporting the agency responsible for attracting and regulating foreign and domestic investment; as Special Staff to the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia (2013 – 2014); as Special Staff to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for legal matters (2019 – 2024); and as Secretary to the Presidential Task Force for Investment Acceleration (2021 – 2024), a role focused on removing regulatory bottlenecks to major investment projects across Indonesia.

This combination of private practice, corporate board, and government policy experience gives Dini a distinctive vantage point: she has advised clients as external counsel, sat on the other side of the table as a company board member, and helped shape the regulatory environment itself from within government. Few practitioners in Indonesia's capital markets and M&A space can draw on all three perspectives.
