Elizabeth Silalahi leads the firm's Corporate Advisory, Capital Market, and Governance, Ethics and Compliance practices, advising major corporate clients on high-value transactions and complex governance matters. Her blend of top-tier legal practice, senior corporate leadership, and public-sector experience makes her a trusted advisor to boards, senior management, and regulators alike.

Elizabeth advises clients on corporate, capital markets, and merger & acquisition matters, as well as on governance, ethics, and compliance. Her practice spans transaction structuring, and the design of governance frameworks and compliance systems, complemented by her work delivering governance and ethics training. Her career reflects a rare combination of top-tier legal practice, senior corporate leadership, and public-sector service, and she currently also serves as a Member of the Audit Board of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (the Indonesian Financial Services Authority).

Prior to rejoining HWMA, Elizabeth was in senior in-house and executive roles within Indonesia's mining sector. As Head of Division/EVP Holding Corporate Legal (Group General Counsel) at MIND ID – PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) (2018 – 2022), the state holding company overseeing PT Aneka Tambang, PT Timah, PT Bukit Asam, PT Freeport Indonesia, dan PT Vale Indonesia, she provided legal, litigation, and compliance guidance across the group. She played a central role in landmark transactions, including the acquisition of a 51% stake in PT Freeport Indonesia, as well as the issuance of multi-tranche international notes totaling more than USD 6 billion. She also built several group-wide governance systems from the ground up, including a whistleblowing platform, a regulatory compliance system, and a gratification reporting system, and led the group's ISO 37001 anti-bribery certification effort. During this period, she also served as Commissioner of PT Indonesia Papua Metal dan Mineral and as a Board Member of Yayasan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Amungme dan Komoro, a foundation supporting Papuan indigenous communities.

Earlier in her career, Elizabeth spent almost five years as a Principal at Egon Zehnder (2011 – 2016), where she advised clients on Indonesian talent strategy and led executive search mandates across financial services, legal, and human resources leadership roles, placing more than 50 senior appointments. She began her legal career at Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners/Baker McKenzie (now HHP Law Firm) (1997 – 2005) and was a Partner at MDC Law Firm (now PWC Legal) (2005 - 2011), where she built a strong foundation in equity and debt capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and banking and finance, working on landmark transactions such as the IPOs of Bank Mandiri, BRI, and Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur, and the merger of Bank Mandiri, as well as Bank Niaga and Lippo Bank (currently Bank CIMB Niaga).

Beyond her practice, Elizabeth is active in Indonesia's legal community and civil society. She serves on the Board of Ethics of the Indonesian Financial Services Lawyers Association (HKHSK) and as Deputy Treasurer of PERADI, the Indonesian Advocate Association, having previously served two terms as its Deputy Secretary General.
