Portrait of Rudhi Mukhtar, S.H., M.Kn.

Rudhi Mukhtar is a Co-Founder and Partner at HWMA Law Firm, where he leads the firm's dispute resolution and litigation practice while advising clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. With over 30 years of legal experience spanning banking, litigation, and corporate advisory work, he plays a central role in shaping the firm's practice and its representation of clients across a wide range of industries.

Rudhi began his legal career in 1996 as a Paralegal and Assistant Lawyer at Singgih Law Office, where he gained early experience in litigation, foreign investment, employment disputes, and contract drafting. In 1997, he joined PT Bank Bukopin, serving as a Legal Staff member before later being appointed as Head of Credit Support at its Bogor Branch. He subsequently joined PT Dwi Investindo (now known as part of the Indika Group) as a Legal Officer. In 1999 he joined the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA/BPPN), the government agency established in the wake of the Asian financial crisis to restructure and recover assets from Indonesia’s troubled banking sector, where he served as Head of the Litigation Team and Head of the Legal Advocacy Team within its legal division. Then Rudhi moved and held the position of Legal & Export-Import Manager at PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk., one of Indonesia’s largest poultry industry groups, and prior to establishing HWMA Law Firm, he worked as a Liquidator and Director at PT Inti Hupindo, Jakarta. He also served as a Legal Expert assisting the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (2008–2009), and in 2023 he founded KRA Adhi Putra Advisory, a separate advisory venture that runs alongside his practice at HWMA.

In the non-litigation field, Rudhi has successfully handled numerous projects and represented both foreign and domestic clients across a wide range of industries, including banking, insurance, manufacturing, mining and energy, shipping, consumer goods, healthcare, logistics, and private equity, as well as start-ups and foundations (non-profit entities), a breadth of sector experience that few dispute resolution specialists can match. He has advised on and protected clients' business interests across a broad range of corporate actions, including corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, liquidation, joint ventures, debt restructuring, foreign direct investment, land acquisition, financing, consumer protection, and antitrust.

In the field of litigation, Rudhi has successfully handled numerous complex commercial litigation cases with consistently strong outcomes, including civil disputes (including cases before the Religious Courts), bankruptcy, state administrative law, and industrial relations, representing clients from the District Court level up to the Supreme Court, with the highest case value reaching USD 800,000,000. He has also effectively represented and defended clients in general and special criminal cases, including economic crimes, banking violations, and cybercrime, and has acted as legal counsel in major national corruption cases, including one involving alleged state losses of approximately IDR 16 trillion.

With his expertise and experience, Rudhi is frequently invited to deliver training sessions and speak on various topics, including Corporate Law, Business Law, Contract Drafting and Agreements, Law for Non-Legal Professionals, Legal Protection for Consumers in Online Gaming and Investment Trends in Indonesia, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Bankruptcy and Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU), Mergers and Acquisitions, Energy Law, as well as Legal Issues relating to Foundations.
