A. Hidayat Ardibrata is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of HWMA Law Firm. He leads the firm's overall strategic direction and management while maintaining an active practice, advising clients on corporate and investment law, capital markets and securities, banking and finance, competition law, and complex commercial disputes. His combination of private practice and senior in-house experience shapes the firm's practical, business-oriented approach to legal advisory work, and he is regularly sought out by boards of directors, senior management, and entrepreneurs alike for guidance on high-stakes corporate and regulatory matters.

Hidayat began his career as a lawyer at Benedicta & Associates (1997 – 1999). He then joined Roedl & Partner, a renowned German tax and legal consulting firm, as legal advisor from 1999, where he was exposed to the cross-border legal and tax considerations of international clients doing business in Indonesia.

He subsequently served as an associate lawyer at Assegaf Hamzah & Partners before moving in-house as Corporate Secretary and General Legal Counsel at PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk, a major player in the Indonesian cement industry (2002 – 2005) — a pivotal turnaround period for the company during which he was responsible for the company's corporate secretarial function and its broader legal affairs.

Throughout his legal career, Hidayat has been instrumental in a diverse array of legal transactions, including capital market activities, mergers and acquisitions, debt restructuring, project financing, and matters related to banking and insurance. He has also actively engaged in cases before the Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition (KPPU) and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), and his experience extends to the negotiation and drafting of EPC contracts within the mining and energy sectors.

Before founding HWMA Law Firm, Hidayat served as Director of Legal Affairs at a PMA consulting firm specializing in advising on foreign investment and doing business in Indonesia, an experience that sharpened his understanding of the practical challenges faced by foreign investors entering the Indonesian market.

Hidayat's expertise extends beyond traditional legal realms; he provides guidance to entrepreneurs in the creative industry and startup companies on a wide range of issues affecting their business operations, including pre-publication reviews and brand protection strategies. His counsel is frequently sought by boards of directors and senior management on corporate governance, compliance matters, and electronic media law.

Hidayat's legal practice is primarily centered on corporate and investment law, capital markets and securities, banking and finance, competition law, intellectual property rights law, employment, land and property, and litigation.
