Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations are increasingly central to corporate strategy, investor relations, and regulatory compliance in Indonesia. HWMA's ESG and sustainability practice supports clients, including public companies, financial institutions, state-owned enterprises, and multinational investors, in understanding and meeting their sustainability-related legal obligations, disclosing ESG matters accurately, and integrating sustainability principles into their business and financing structures. Our practice is anchored in OJK's sustainable finance framework, including OJK Regulation No. 51/POJK.03/2017 on the Implementation of Sustainable Finance for Financial Services Institutions, Issuers and Public Companies, and OJK Circular Letter No. 16/SEOJK.04/2021 on ESG disclosure guidelines for annual reports. We advise issuers and financial institutions on the structuring and documentation of green bonds, sustainability-linked bonds, and green loans in accordance with ICMA principles and OJK green taxonomy guidance. We also assist with environmental regulatory compliance under Indonesia's Environmental Law and the licensing framework administered by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
