With the continuous development of the financial services industry, financial conglomerates play a strategic role in driving economic growth through business diversification, operational efficiency, and technological innovation. To strengthen the regulation and supervision of financial conglomerates, the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK) has issued OJK Regulation No. 30 of 2024 on Financial Conglomerates and Financial Conglomerate Holding Companies (OJK Regulation No. 30 of 2024), as mandated by Law No. 4 of 2023 on Financial Sector Development and Strengthening. OJK Regulation No. 30 of 2024 also replaces the previous regulation related to financial conglomeration, namely OJK Regulation No. 45/POJK.03/2020 on Financial Conglomeration.
