Rudhi Mukhtar (Rudhi) has been practising law for over 30 years and has completed various courses, training programmes and certifications in the fields of law and banking.
Rudhi is the Founder and Senior Partner at HWMA Law Firm, as well as the Founder of KRA Adhi Putra Advisory (2023). From 2008 to 2009, Rudhi served as a Legal Expert assisting the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. Prior to joining HWMA in 2005, Rudhi worked as a liquidator and director at PT Inti Hupindo, Jakarta. From 2004 to 2005, Rudhi held the position of Legal & Export-Import Manager at one of Indonesia’s largest poultry industry groups, PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk., Jakarta. Between 1999 and 2004, Rudhi worked at the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA/BPPN) as Head of the Litigation Team and Head of the Legal Advocacy Team within its legal division, Jakarta. From 1998 to 1999, Rudhi served as a Legal Staff member at PT Dwi Investindo, Jakarta. Between 1997 and 1998, Rudhi worked at the head office of PT Bank Bukopin as a Legal Staff member, Jakarta, and later served as Head of Credit Support at the PT Bank Bukopin branch in Bogor. Rudhi began his legal career in 1996 as a Paralegal and Assistant Lawyer at Singgih Law Office, Jakarta.
In the non-litigation field, Rudhi has successfully handled numerous projects and represented both foreign and domestic clients across a wide range of industries. These sectors include Banking, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing, Property, Information Technology (IT), Mining and Energy, Education, Shipping, Food and Beverage, Trade, Import-Export, Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Transportation and Logistics, Distribution, and Private Equity. His experience also includes advising start-ups and foundations (non-profit entities).
Rudhi has advised on and protected clients’ business interests across a broad range of corporate actions, including corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and liquidation. Rudhi’s experience also covers business licensing, joint ventures, debt restructuring, investment and foreign direct investment, land acquisition, contract drafting, business negotiations, financing, debt collection, consumer protection, and competition law.
In the field of litigation, Rudhi has successfully handled numerous complex commercial litigation cases with consistently strong outcomes. These include civil disputes (including cases before the Religious Courts), bankruptcy, state administrative law, and industrial relations, representing clients from the District Court level up to the Supreme Court, with the highest case value reaching USD 800,000,000.
Rudhi has also effectively represented and defended clients in various general and special criminal cases, including economic crimes, banking violations, cybercrime, and corruption as legal counsel in major national corruption cases, with alleged state losses reaching approximately IDR 16 trillion.
